More Nikon D3 and D300 reactions

Coming up later today:

  • More Nikon D3 and D300 reactions
  • Taking a look at the nine new Olympus cameras that were announced in the shadow (figuratively and literaly) of the Nikon D3/D300. The most exciting of the bunch appears to be the SP-560, an 8mp 1/2.3" follow-up to the SP-550, the one that started the super-superzoom craze with an 18x 28-500ish lens.
  • In the meantime, catch up with the latest news and links from the wide world of digital imaging, photography and photographic arts at the Imaging Insider. They have the highest SPH! (stories per hour).
  • Thanks to the Nikon Cafe for linking to my previous coverage of the new Nikon dSLRs!
  • If you want to recap the new Nikon events, check e-photographia's coverage!

  • Please note that after the forum vote, the dpreview advanced Nikon DSLR forum has been split into two: One forum covers the D300, D200 and D100, and the other forum covers the D3, D2 and D1 series. This was not a schism, it was an amicable separation :) Or was it? (Some of the earlier threads listed in my previous posts may have moved!). At the rate this post is going I may have to split it between the D3 and D300 as well :-)
  • As expected, Ken Rockwell's non-review "review" of the D300 has created a stir
  • Thom Hogan's interesting Q&A on the D3/D300 has sparked a discussion. Some interesting thoughts and analysis from Thom! He also tackles product cannibalization vs announcement of future plans.

    Meanwhile, outside Nikonsville...
  • All apologies to the readers and fans of brands other than Nikon and Canon for the reduced coverage this last week. The Canon/Nikon extravaganza has taken up most of my blog cycles. But I promise I will make it up to you after the Nikon D3/D300 dust settles :)
  • The discussion about the future of the Pentax 645D in the new Hoya-Pentax era continues. I hope Pentax finds a way to produce this camera.
