The specs of the Canon 40D and big daddy Canon 1Ds Mark III were leaked at Amazon! A number of eagle-eyed dpreview forum users caught them and wrote up about it. But first two new lenses were not only leaked, but they are also taking pre-orders!
New Canon lenses available for pre-order!
The Amazon pages have since been taken down for the two DSLRs cameras, but not for the two new lenses!
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM SLR Lens , a new EF-S USM IS (Image Stabilization) "kit" lens costs $200 (two hundred) and is available for pre-order at Amazon. Estimate release is November 17 (they usually err on the side of caution, things get shipped earlier a lot of times)
Canon EF 14mm F2.8L II USM a new 35mm FF lens, ideally suited for the 1Ds Mark III according to the Canon marketing materials. This one is slightly more expensive, $2200 and shipping by November 15, 2007. Description and basic specs
Links to the now deleted Amazon pages
While the pages were pulled down, the product numbers won't likely change, so when the cameras are officially announced, the links will be presumably be working again: 40D at Amazon and 1Ds Mark III at Amazon.
