Around the Internets - the latest buzz

  • A 24mm view on photography and digital imaging news at The Imaging Insider
  • A video on the Nikon D3 has been posted at E-Photographia.com. More specifically, Giorgetto Giugiaro discusses industrial design and the Nikon D3.

    Overheard in the dpreview forums
  • ISO buzz for both the Nikon D3 and the Nikon D300
  • And while the Nikon buzz continues to be "on paper", the Canon 40D buzz s hands-on! More and more people are getting the 40D in their hands and posting sample pictures, such as dogs in motion. And some focusing issues are raised.
  • The biggest buzz at Pentax World is the Photozone test of the two new DA * Pentax lenses. Them being the PENTAX smc DA * 50-135mm F2.8ED IF SDM and the PENTAX smc DA * 16-50mm F2.8ED AL IF SDM
  • The Panasonic L10 conversation shifted from disecting it to who's buying it now?
  • The new Casio 60fps is being discussed as a potential super zoom contender to the Panasonic FZ-series. Since Casio did not give it a formal name, I have named the model in development the Casio 60fps.
  • And this was a brilliant move by Casio because it creates buzz around their name, and has a "tide lifts all" effect on sales of their other digital cameras. Smart move by Casio! And if as a bonus it does indeed reboot the Megapixel wars, everyone should buy a Casio camera so as to thank them for saving us from ouselves :-)
  • Switching is not a daily thing, but people do switch brands. The latest one is from Nikon D200 to Olympus E410
