The new Sony A700 is official, Sony's new mid-range Alpha DSLR along with three new lenses

Price: Ships in October-ish at $1400 for body-only, $1500 for the 18-70 DT kit lens, and $1900 with a new 16-105 lens.

Lots of discussion already that got started with the A700 leak

Two new lenses, the 16-105mm f3.5–f5.6 DT for $580, and the 18–250mm f3.5–f6.3 DT at $550 (the trend for even bigger superzoom SLR lenses continues!) have been announced

Also a development notice for a new specialty lens coming out in Spring 2008, the 70-300mm f4.5–f5.6 SSM G.

According to digitalcamera.jp the camera will ship on November 16 in Japan.
