Two new cameras from Samsung, the S760 and S860

Samsung perhaps wanted to be the first company to announce a 2008 camera model, so they went ahead and announced their entry-level S-series S760 and S860, with January 2008 availability. Now this may seem contrary to common sense - announcing future models during the busiest digital camera buying season. But these are not advanced camera models, and they are not likely to have the same effect on existing camera sales it would have for example if Canon announced a new 50D or Nikon announced a D90. But regardless, why they announced it right now beats me :)
