I can't wait to purchase the new Oympus SP-570uz. When will the camera be available?
Thanks for your comment!
The press releases of the announcement state March 2008. The Amazon pre-order page says April 15, 2008. Amazon's estimates are very defensive, they seem to want to err on the side of caution.
If I were guessing, I would say sometime in March, but I have no concrete information to base this on.
How soon can we start seeing some pictures taken with this monster? I always look for those before buying, as it gives a better "all around use" preview to what a camera can do.
Newegg has it in stock since a month ago

Hi.. Can u pls tell me if the camera has a zoom button(W/T) as well along with the ring lens ?
Or do we have t use both the hands to take a snap ?
I don't see a W/T zoom button on the camera, so it is probably just the zoom ring. But I could be wrong, I haven't looked at its user manual (and I don't know if it has been posted online yet).
I agree, it would be more flexible if manufacturers offered the option for both types of zoom, as different people in different situations have different preferences. Of course there could be implications in such a case in terms of design and cost.
Thanks mate for the reply. It does not have a W/T zoom button , i am sure. Its a little sad that I cant do a single handed zoom and click. I am yet to buy my first own camera and I m looking forward to this one! Guess I made a good choice.
Congratulations! This camera certainly has a lot of features to and options to experiment with.
