We already mentioned the new megapixel wars of CES 2008 with a 10mp 1/2.33" sensor. Well, it looks like Sharp has a similar sensor according to digitalcamera.jp.
The new sensor, the RJ21W3BA0ET (Sharp Japan site), competes with ant-hills - take a look at this: 1.66 microns!
The monthly production output is 30,000 units, sample price is 4000 yen, and mass shipments begin in March 2008.
