New Kodak CMOS 1.4 micron 5mp sensor

Kodak has announced a new sensor with tiny pixels for tiny cameras. The full Kodak press release at the Imaging Insider. This sensor uses the new Color Filter Pattern technology and the new KAC-05020 sensor goes to 1.4 microns, down from 1.75 microns from previous sensors.

One of the interesting parts of this sensor is the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, which unlike standard CMOS pixels, it uses the absence of electrons to detect a signal. For more details visit the Imaging Insider. There you will find links to related Kodak pages and blogs.

More on this sensor at the Image Sensors World blog, Adorama News Desk, and CNet's Underexposed.
