As we promised earlier, we are launching the second review matrix, covering mid-range and advanced compact-size non-DSLR digital cameras with short zoom ratios. We will not include any super zooms in this matrix. Not because we don't like superzooms, but because we will create another review matrix for the superzooms. Expect that sometime next week!

We couldn't find the perfect name for this segment, but our readers helped us in coming up with this name, "power compacts". And if you don't like these type of cameras, we have created a name for them for you as well, "Deluxe Noisy Boxes".
