Takeover rumors completely unfounded!

There are some rumors circling around the internets that Microsoft has offered 44 end user licenses of Windows Vista Home Basic (or 31 Home Premium licenses) to buy this noisy blog! We have to address these rumors and state that they are completely unfounded! We are not sure where they came from! Perhaps people have mistaken that with the $44 billion Microsoft takeover bid for Yahoo.

Speaking of which, this could have repercussions that affect photographers. Flickr users had already how to go through the Yahoo transformation, and the thought of a new wave of "Microsoftizations" may seem daunting. And speaking of Flickr, we have a Flickr group and Flickr Photo pool to accompany this blog. Please feel free to join and submit your photos to our photo pool. We regularly feature pictures from the photo pool on this blog to thank our readers for their readership.

Update! Cnet's Underexposed blog has a post on Flickr users banding together to fend off the MSFT takeover!

Well, thank goodness. LOL

And Vista? Ugh. They can hardly give it away.

I'd switch to Linux before I'd switch to Vista...

Vista is like something you have to scrape off the bottom of your shoe...

Uh oh, I said it. XP is gonna go belly up on me for sure now out of spite... LOL

Now, imagine if Microsoft made cameras...

There would be proprietary flash cards, batteries, formats... oh wait, I just described Olympus and Fuji... ROTFL

LOL. Even Microsoft wouldn't require their own branded memory cards to unlock the panorama feature :)

they'd require you to activate the memory card first. :X

LOL. Or perhaps take only 20 pictures at VGA resolution, before the card will stop working, unless activated ;-)

LOL

And after you activated it- you would need 20 patches from Microsoft to make it work again...

10 patches, then 10 more patches to fix the things the first 10 patches broke.... :-)

Oh you must be one of the alpha testers of the super secret Microsoft Vista 2000 megapixel QVGA Digicam? :)
