Let's Go plays Hardball with Sigma (an interview)

Let's Go Digital continues their post-PMA interview series with another interesting interview, this time with Sigma, more specificially Sigma COO Kazuto Yamaki. There is a picture of Mr Yamaki holding the DP-1 in his hands over at Let's Go.

In that interview, they discuss the Sigma DP1, the delays of the DP1, plans for future DSLRs, camera speed with a confession from Sigma, the giant green 200-500mm lens, lens talk, image stablization, pixel size and a lot more! Be sure to check Let's Go for the complete interview.

A bullish Sigma COO quote of interest:

"we were determined to make the Sigma DP1 the best compact camera ever"

The Sigma DP1 is available for pre-order at Amazon for $800. We just learned that three of the DP1 accessories were shipped yesterday by Amazon, but not the camera itself. The three shipping accessories were the Sigma EF-140 External Flash, the Sigma External View Finder for DP1, and the Sigma SAC-3 AC Adapter. Please note that in-stock status and availability changes all the time. As of the time of writing, only the last item is in-stock from Amazon, while the first item ships from a 3rd party seller (Adorama). The situation may be different by the time you read this post.

Indeed they are! It's about time the camera websites and the manufacturers actually started interacting in a public way!

It's quite surprising we haven't seen a whole lot more of this, given the internet era and such.
