Capture Nikon Capture NX-2?

Nikon's Capture NX 2 software has started shipping. The first one we noticed among the major retailers to list it in-stock is J&R World. NX2 is available in two flavors, a full-version for new users for $180, and an upgrade version for NX 1 owners for $110. J&R World is offering free shipping for the NX-2 software.

Reviews of Nikon Capture NX 2
For more details on NX 2, let's take a look at some of the reviews posted on the camera and photography sites.

Just a couple of days ago, PDN Online posted their hands on experience with the new software version, and among other things they cover "U Point" technology. Good timing for their hands-on review!

Mike Pasini at Imaging Resource has a longer review, and among other things he points out the new additions in NX2, and makes "U" a recurring theme throughout the review.

Capture NX 2 is compatible with both Windows machines and iTunes computers. I believe the latter are called Macs, but I have to double-check that ;-)

Uwe at Digital Outback Photo took a workflow approach to his review, as he takes a single picture through a series of "NXformations" (transformations using NX) :)

And earlier in June, "diglloyd" posted his summary review of NX-2 at Photography Review. A longer and more detailed version of the review can be found at

Another detailed review of NX-2, this one at Luminescent Photo by Jason Odell, Ph.D, who is also producing a 400-page NX 2.0 ebook (PDF). The ebook is not free.

I'm sure there's a few more NX-2 reviews we missed, but we can't post everything :) But if you think there are other noteworthy NX 2.0 reviews, simply let us know and we will add them promptly. The email address is at the "Contact (Email)" button in the top right corner, and in the picture below:

And while we are on the topic of software, Photography Blog has just posted their review of Nik Software Viveza. This uses the innovative U Point technology which you may remember from the NX-2 reviews mentioned above!
