Refurbished Nikon D2h down to $1000 (price drop alert)

We have a price drop alert! Adorama has dropped the price of the refurbished Nikon D2H to $1000. This was once upon a time Nikon's speed-demon DSLR. Its previous refurbished price was $1300 a few weeks ago. And yes, it has "just" four megapixels. Much has been written about the D2h, and it's all a Google or dpreview forum search away!

We haven't yet posted a profile page for the D2h at DSLR Map, but here are some impact reviews from that era, circa 2003, starting with Phil Askey at dpreview, and then continuing with Nikon superguru Thom Hogan.

Moose Peterson said "it's all about photography" when he wrote his D2h write-up. What is interesting, if you search his review, you will not find a single reference to the word "megapixels".

Others reviewing and chiming in on the D2h included traditional review sites like Imaging Resource, and Steve's Digicams, the Ann Coulter of photography talk (Ken Rockwell) [ouch? for who?], Photo.net, Nikonians, Digital Outback, Galbraith and lots more!

Those were the days when a single megapixel mattered :-)

And while we are on the topic of Adorama, they have two tripod specials that are generating some internet buzz, first the SLIK PRO 780 DX Tripod which uses the Pro 700 DX legs, and comes with the a new SH-807E heavy duty 3-way pan head and case. Price is $210 with free shipping. And for fans of Bogen Manfrotto, the 190XPROB Black Tripod Kit with 322RC2 Grip Action Ball Quick Release Head & Tripod Case goes for $285 and free shipping too.
