Changes coming after Photokina

Once Photokina 2008 is over, we will have a number of changes to improve upon a number of things. It's no secret that this blog is bloated, so a "blog diet" (in terms of the layout and page loading times) is one of themes. If you have any suggestions, preferences, recommendations or requests, please send an email.

Great to hear! Hopefully this will make loading the page more tolerable on my iPhone when I'm not under 3G coverage.

I am surprised that even it loads on the iPhone so that is good news!

How about reading the RSS feed thru the iPhone? That should speed up loading since it's mostly text, without the blog template overhead?

There are some more mobile options at feedbooks for the feed, such as ePub, mobipocket, iliad, kindle, but they are all delivered via a "pull", not a "push". So people have to go and pick up the updates or initiate the updates manually on the mobile device, depending on the format and device they use. But it is a free service.

Thanks for the advice, just bookmarked the feed on the iPhone. I'm not big on reading feeds on my computer, in general just open all my sites in tabs and scroll through them so it never occurred to me. It does seem to load quite quickly.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad the feed is loading faster!

Streamlining is good, but keep the spirit, humour and breadth of the blog intact. I've become quite fond of this place.

tai: you should try one of web based rss aggregators like netvibes, pageflakes, yourminis, igoogle...
