Discover new sites and blogs (microstock, unix mom, kittens & more)

Welcome to a new edition of "DNS&B"! The websites may be new to you, or new to me, and they could be 10 years old or 10 days old.

Don't you wish there was a reality show on TV about a photographer trying to make it with microstock photography? Well, not during this season, but fortunately there is a blog! Photographer tries hand at microstock photography using Shutterstock, at the Mastering Microstock blog.

A picture is worth 1000 words. A memory is worth 1000 pictures. An epiphany is worth 1000 memories. And a cacophony ruins it all ;-) Long intro aside, here is the 1000 Words Magazine, written by a freelance art writer in beautiful Barcelona.

We are planning a special on Women Photographers after Photokina 2008, but for now, be sure to check the usr/bin/mom photography blog. She has superuser privileges so you better behave :)

We discover the excellent Photo Pawoli blog first via Stumble Upon and again through Brian Auer's brilliant idea, the social media networking project, so we had to feature it! It spotlights five pictures per page, a number of them b+w. The blog is in french, so to view more pictures, click on the "Messages plus anciens" link at the bottom of the page - that means "older/previous posts".

Want to sit back and enjoy streams of new photography links? Check out MashFot.com, that features photography-related links streaming from various social bookmarking websites, like del.icio.us, digg, magnolia, and such.

You know you love kittens! Even if you refuse to admit it in public! Is the next website a guilty pleasure or a parade of poorly exposed cat pictures? We blog, you decide, and Rate My Kitten!

Websites and blogs featured in this segment are also added to the giant Discover New Sites Wall at the NetVibes noisy universe page. That is a great way to "discover" all the websites we have "discovered" so far. If any of the boxes do not load, usually reloading the NetVibes page will help.
