Heads up: Full page ads are coming (one week experiment)

So this doesn't come as a surprise, we are letting you know that we will be experimenting with full page ads for about a week. A number of websites, including CNet are experimenting with this format.

I know most of you hate ads, unfortunately the slowdown in the economy is propagating through, and in order for this blog to continue going at the same pace, it has to "carry its weight".

If you are allergic to full page ads, you can always  subscribe to the full-text feed of this blog and read using your favorite newsreader. It is free to subscribe, and so are the newsreaders.

Because this is a relatively small blog, you can also have a noticeable financial impact in supporting this blog if you want it to continue at this pace by:

  1. Shopping through the Noisy Mall that features 50+ leading online retailers
  2. Making a donation in lieu of a subscription using the Amazon honor system. The donation is handled by the Amazon infrastructure, it is not a peer-to-peer transaction like PayPal.

I already intensely dislike pheedo's daily demands to set cookies.

The full-page ads were enough to make me decide to decline to visit this site or the blog again, despite my enjoyment of your content. I'll miss ya...

Unfortunately this blog has to carry its weight in order to continue at the current pace. I can't say it any more bluntly.

The other option is for this blog to become a 10-hour per week project, with no wall-to-wall coverage of the latest happenings, no late-breaking news, no rumors galore, and things like that. In other words, become a "regular" blog, instead of this chaotic non-stop noisefest :)

You're right.

Guess I'll stop snivelling and continue to read...

I forgot to mention, another alternative is the organized and very compact 1001 Noisy Cameras at NetVibes page!
