Recently I was out at the zoo, prior to coming in I took a photo of a house about a quarter of a mile away. Then I zoomed in all the way, and WOW, I could see a 2 cars parked in the driveway, THAT WERE NOT VISABLE TO THE NAKED EYE. I say quarter of a mile, no way for me to know all that, but I tell you I was very impressed, and note, I was holding it in my hand and it was not blurry. I am currently a P850 owner and happy with it but it appears to me they are no longer targeting the pro-sumer market and just going for the cheaper/mid range cameras. <BR/><BR/>I bought my wife a Z612 earlier this year and the image quality is not as good my P850. But as you are saying, the signs point to that. They went from two P-series cameras in 2005 to one in 2006 and zero in 2007.
